Toronto Garden Tours

Now is the season for all good gardeners to come to the aid of their nosiness.

I love garden tours. What great ideas there are for the stealing! Well, not really stealing — but the cost of the tour is usually very reasonable; often as little at $10. Mark your calendar for these dates, and get your tickets soon, as they often sell out quickly:

Saturday, June 7:

Mount Pleasant Cemetary Tree Tour, 1 pm to 3 pm – an arborist guides you through Toronto’s most extensive arboretum, which contains examples of all woody plant material known to grown in our area

Sunday, June 8 – a tough choice:

Hidden Gardens and Secret Spaces Tour in Cabbagetown, 11 am to 4 pm – 10 eclectic small-space gardens

Parkdale Garden Tour, 10 am to 4 pm – 18 gardens in the High Park area

Saturday & Sunday, June 14 & 15:

Through the Garden Gate, the Gardens of Riverdale, 11 am to 4 pm – this time the mother of all garden tours in the city, which always takes place on Father’s Day weekend, brings you behind the scenes in 25 Riverdale gardens

Saturday, June 21:

The Magical Gardens of Leaside, 11 am to 4 pm – described as showing several very special, yet typical city gardens

Sunday, June 22:

Gardens of the Beach, 1 pm to 5 pm – always a wide variety of gardens (my garden was amongst them a few years ago)
